MEDIA RELEASE 24 January 2020 DCCI welcomes new Cabinet The Devonport Chamber of Commerce and Industry has welcomed the new Cabinet announced by Premier Peter Gutwein. Spokesperson for the DCCI, Rod Bramich, said the new lineup strikes the right balance between renewal and stability. “The DCCI is looking forward to working closely with the Premier Gutwein and the new Cabinet to make Tasmania the best place in Australia to do business,” Mr Bramich said. “The most important thing from a business community perspective is that there is certainty in government policy, and there’s a lot of experience in the new team. “There’s also some new faces in key roles, like Jane Howlett as Minister for Sport and Racing, which means there’s also new energy and new ideas being brought to the table. “From a North West perspective, it’s very pleasing to see Jeremy Rockliff take on Trade as well as his previous responsibilities, and for Roger Jaensch to add Minister for the Environment to his portfolios. “And, of course, having a Premier and Treasurer with a sound understanding of fiscal management is good for business confidence.” ENDS
