DCCI to host Business Roadshow

Wednesday 25 October 2023

The DCCI has welcomed the State Government’s most recent commitment to supporting small business, through two new services which replace the former Enterprise Centres Tasmania program. The new services are just two of the things being talked about at the Tasmanian Business Advice and Support Roadshow on the 7th of November.
The Tasmanian Business Advice Service (TBAS) provides up to five hours of free advice and support to existing small businesses that have had an ABN for at least 12 months. The New Business Support Pilot Program (NBS) provides up to two hours of free advice and support to people intending to start a business, or those who have had an ABN for less than 12 months.
Replacing the former Enterprise Centres Tasmania program, the two new services respond to the need to provide small businesses with greater choice over how, when and what services they access, to assist in sustainable business development and growth. Experienced advisors can assist with a wide range of topics including managing cashflow, business structuring, marketing, risk management, diversification strategies, small business planning and small business strategy. Services are complimented by a range of other tools and resources provided by Business Tasmania.
“Over the past four years we have seen 241 new businesses established in and around the City. Starting a small business is often hard work, particularly in the first few years, and an important part of our work is fostering a business-friendly community and supporting innovation and collaboration. The Chamber’s goal is to see businesses thrive and help Devonport prosper, and we welcome the State Government’s ongoing commitment to the provision of business advice”. said Ms Smith.
To help promote the new services available, DCCI will be hosting a local event as part of the Tasmanian Business Advice and Support Roadshow in partnership with Business Tasmania.
The Devonport event will be held on Tuesday 7 November at 5.30pm. Attendees will hear from representatives from Business Tasmania, DCCI, Braddon Business Centre, Fusion Business Solutions, Employer of Choice Assist Services, Accelerator and Business Growth Program and more.
Whether you are a business owner, operator or dreaming of getting started, everyone is welcome to attend the free event.
