From its annual meeting each year, the members elect industry representatives whose responsibilities include bringing forward issues from their specialist sectors for executive discussion and action. Reporting of market conditions within each industry sector at monthly meetings also provides the Chamber with current information on market trends and the health of the local economy. This also gives an indication of the local market as compared with the overall State economy.
The Retail Committee assists in brainstorming and developing ideas to progress opportunities for retailers in Devonport. Working alongside both the Devonport City Council, and local retailers, it is a conduit for ideas to support local businesses and promote Devonport as a shopping destination and centre of retail excellence.

The Industry and Education Group is representative of groups from the community, government agencies, educators and industry leaders which identify issues and opportunities relevant for industry and focus on industry, employer and education related issues and opportunities in the Devonport region.
Mike Badcock
The Tourism Committee assists the Devonport City Council in promoting and advancing tourism in the Devonport area. By working to showcase the best of the region, the committee helps to position Devonport as a must-visit destination, drawing in more visitors and generating positive economic and social impacts for the community.
