The Chamber welcomes new membership interest, input and questions from prospective new businesses and members, and people with an interest in Chambers of Commerce, and in the City of Devonport, located on the scenically beautiful North West Coast of Tasmania.
The Devonport Chamber of Commerce Inc. was founded in 1940, to foster business, professional and community interests and to actively promote commerce and industry in Devonport and surrounding districts.
With a population of around 30,000, the city of Devonport is recognised and promoted as "The Gateway to Tasmania". Devonport is the arrival point for the sea passenger/vehicular ships "The Spirit of Tasmania I and II" which provide daily services between Devonport and Melbourne. During the summer months Devonport is a popular stop for overseas cruise ships. While Cradle Mountain National Park, just one and a half hours drive from Devonport is a popular attraction for cruise ship visitors, (and all visitors to the area) it is matched by the warm welcome shown to visitors by the people of Devonport .
In addition to a strong commercial and professional base, Devonport is recognised as a major tourist destination with a wide range of tourist attractions in the area.
The Devonport airport is serviced by Qantaslink airlines with several daily services to and from Melbourne. Intrastate services are also available.
